During her speech to the "Oana" program broadcast by Alsumaria satellite channel, Sabri said, "It is important to activate the work of Parliament, and the session for selecting the President of the Republic is very important," noting that "the caretaker government is not a real government."

She added that "the dilemma in activating the blocking third that was from the Federal Court," stressing "the necessity of giving priority to the national interest."

She added that "there is pressure on the independents," noting that "the national sectarian majority does not suit Iraq ."

Parliament Grants An Exception To Members Of These Parliamentary Committees

In a statement received by Alsumaria News, the Council’s media department said, “The House of Representatives voted to exclude members of the committees below and allow their membership in other parliamentary committees:

- Committee on Women, Family and Childhood

- Committee on Endowments and Clans

- Committee on Migration, Displacement and Community Reconciliation - Committee on Youth and Sports - Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media - Committee on Human Rights.

And the House of Representatives announced, earlier today, Wednesday, the completion of voting on the members of the permanent parliamentary committees.   LINK

Al-Zamili Directs The Parliamentary Committees To Hold Their Meetings Starting Next Week

Al-Zamili said in a statement published by his office, received by Alsumaria News, that “today, Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the nomination and formation of all permanent parliamentary committees was completed, by voting on the membership of the representatives nominated for its membership,” calling on members of the parliamentary committees, to “hold their meetings starting from the week Next, and exercising their legislative and oversight functions, after the council has completed the quorum for the committees, and actively working to present the legislation that citizens expect from their representatives.

Postponing The Vote On The Emergency Support Law Until Next Saturday

Iraq   08:47 - 05-12-2022  The House of Representatives decided to postpone the voting session on the emergency food security support law until next Saturday.

The media department of the council said in a statement, that "for the purpose of completing the discussions and maturation of the emergency support law for food security and development, and for the need for more time, it was decided to postpone the session to vote on the bill."

The statement added that the postponement will be until "Saturday, 5/14/2022."
