Oil Announces The Signing Of An Agreement With France's Total To Implement Projects In Basra

A statement by the ministry, received by Mawazine News, stated that "Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail received the French ambassador in Baghdad, Eric Chevalier," noting that "the meeting was attended by the second deputy head of the National Oil Company, Laith Al-Shaher, and the assistant head of the economic department at the French embassy in Baghdad, Kevin Besanson." .

He added, "During the meeting, they discussed enhancing joint cooperation in the field of oil, gas and energy."

The minister stressed, according to the statement, that "the ministry is keen to develop the oil and gas industry and the energy sector in Iraq through joint cooperation with sober international companies," noting "the depth of relations between Iraq and France in the field of oil, gas, energy and other sectors."

He explained that "the Ministry of Oil signed an agreement with the French company Total to implement projects for the development of the Artawi field and the establishment of the Artawi gas complex in Basra Governorate and the sea water project, as well as projects to produce solar electricity with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts."

According to a statement received by "Mawazine News", the department indicated, "in its talk about the first seizure operation, which was carried out by the staff of the Najaf Investigation Office, that the assistant of the Inspection Division in the Najaf Tourism Department and the Treasurer of forgery and manipulation of receipts for receipt of books related to the cancellation of licenses to practice the profession for facilities tourism in Najaf, and embezzlement of the sums obtained from it.

She added that "the transfer was made to the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities in Baghdad and the receipt books were seized (second copies of the tamper), pointing out that "the operation, which was carried out in cooperation with the Baghdad Investigation Directorate, resulted in the seizure of (29) receipt books, estimating the total amount recorded. It has about (600,000,000) million dinars.”

And she pointed out that "the minutes of the investigative committee composed, based on an order issued by the Tourism and Antiquities Authority, indicated that there was a laxity on the part of the director of the Najaf Tourism Department in following up on his employees and reliance on incompetent employees."

The department stated that "the office's staff revealed, in a second operation, that Al-Rasheed Bank did not follow up the procedures for repaying a loan granted in 2014 to an investor with a value of (600,00,000) million dinars," noting that "the bank's neglect of the issue of following up on loan repayment; despite the presence of ( 10) Employees are responsible for that, and none of the loan installments has been repaid, whose repayment term is one year from the date of granting it.

A Movement To Conclude Agreements To Enhance The Tourism Labor Market In Iraq

The media office of the Association stated in a statement, "The official Iraqi pavilion was opened at the Arabian Travel Market ATM exhibition in Dubai," noting that "the pavilion was opened under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities - the Iraqi Tourism Authority and under the supervision and implementation of the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq."

The statement added, "The exhibition was launched with the participation of Iraqi tourism companies and hotels from various Iraqi governorates."

For his part, the head of the Association of Travel and Tourism Companies in Iraq, Haider Amer Al-Dujaili, said, according to the statement, that "the association's participation in the exhibition with an official pavilion represents Iraq for the first time through the holding of previous exhibition sessions."
