Samson:  Russia sells its oil about $29 less than Brent crude

Official figures showed that Russian gas exports to Europe declined in the last five months, and the prices of Russian oil contracts recorded a noticeable decline

The Russian "Gazprom" company said that the volume of exports to Europe and Turkey decreased by 26.4 percent between early last November and the middle of this month, compared to the same period last year

Russian oil production lost more than one million barrels per day in the first two weeks of this month, recording a decline of 7.5%, to stop at 10.2 million barrels per day

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Finance reported that the average price of Russian Urals crude amounted to about $80 during the month ending April 14, which is about $29 lower than the average price of Brent crude, which is the main international standard for the world oil market LINK

Samson:  The Russian President Signs A Law On Dealing In Rubles With Foreign Investors

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law providing for the settlement of ruble transactions with foreign investors in the private sector in the field of building liquefied natural gas cargo ships and shipping services.

The law stipulates that prices for services at the port, such as loading, unloading and storage of liquefied gas produced in the Russian Arctic, can be estimated in foreign currency, while payments for these services will be only in Russian rubles.

This step aims to reduce the risks of implementing LNG projects related to fluctuations in foreign exchange markets.

Currently, projects are being implemented on the Yamal Peninsula, in the Kamchatka Territory and Murmansk Region, for the construction of offshore LNG transport complexes.

These complexes will store and transport LNG using floating gas storage facilities, as well as offshore sites for ship-to-ship LNG transshipment.   LINK

Samson:  An Economist Determines The Dollar Exchange Rate In The 2022 Budget

\On Sunday, economist Basil Al-Obeidi set the dollar exchange rate in the 2022 budget.

Al-Obaidi said, in a statement to the "Information" agency, that "the exchange rate has nothing to do with preparing the federal budget, since the Ministry of Finance is responsible for its numbers, and it is the one who makes estimates of revenues and expenditures based on the contexts in which it operates," noting that "any budget that is formulated for the year 2022 will be the adoption of a price the current dollar was exchanged without any change.

He added that "the political blocs can pressure towards changing the current exchange rate in a way that strengthens the dinar, which is what some expect and wish, given that most of the political blocs that entered the elections raised this slogan."

And he indicated that “the exchange rate will remain unchanged, and everyone’s justifications are logical. The Central Bank will argue with its agreement with the World Bank, and the Ministry of Finance will say that it compensated the poor with paragraphs that support the ration card and social protection.”

He pointed out that "the opinions of experts and consultants who support the policy of stabilizing the exchange rate may appear because its change causes damage to the national economy," excluding "a change in the exchange rate during 2022."  LINK
