Butterfly   Oil prices approach $91

2022-01-28   Oil futures prices rose at the close of trading today, Thursday, after their temporary decline this morning, to remain at their highest levels in seven years.

This comes against the background of the US Federal Reserve (Central Bank) indicating its intention to start increasing US interest rates to curb inflation, which reduced investors' appetite for higher-risk assets such as raw materials.

Today, West Texas Intermediate crude rose to its highest level since October 2014, while the price of Brent crude, the global oil standard, rose to close to $91 a barrel.

And the Bloomberg news agency indicated that the rise in oil prices in recent days comes in light of the lack of actual supplies in the markets, and that the transactions that take place in the North Sea market and help determine global oil prices, reached their highest levels since 2019.

The price of West Texas Intermediate crude, the benchmark for US oil, rose by 0.8 percent to $88.09 a barrel for delivery next March in the trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

The price of benchmark Brent crude rose by 0.7% to $90.59 a barrel for delivery next March. https://burathanews.com/arabic/economic/406642

Zig   NORV : Hi...you never answered butterfly    She asked if you own any Dinar and also posted: "Well if he owns dinar I can understand his posts, BUT if he doesn't own dinar, why the heck is he even in here? Is it a personal problem he has for attention."

Dave  Money held by Central banks

Zig   NORV : Please don't call anyone here a fool

NORV   what I own is personal but I have stated several times, there is no need to own dinar..because if and when it ever goes up in value you can invest via the foreign exchange.

Dave   NORV Narrow Money and Broad Money

Narrow money is a subset of broad money. To be explained further, in the United States, narrow money is solely known as M1, whereas broad money includes M1, M2, and M3. As you can see in the explanation below, M1 examples (narrow money) are also included in the M2 and M3 examples (broad money).

M1 Examples: Notes and coins

M2 Examples: Notes, coins, traveler’s checks, and demand deposits

M3 Examples: Notes, coins, traveler’s checks, demand deposits, savings deposits, and money market deposits

NORV  106 trillion dinar to be exact at this time if they RVd at 1 to $1 lmbo

Dave   NORV Where did you get 1 to 1?????

NORV   https://tradingeconomics.com/iraq/money-supply-m0

Zig  Dave : So being digital is an important factor, right?

NORV   the money supply has doubled in the last 24 months

NORV   that is not old money  money is money zig

Dave   NORV Narrow Money and Broad Money

Dave   add Money held by Central banks....   Bush made off with 30 billion usd in IQD

NORV   Look at that chart and see how the money supply has significantly increased since they reduced the exchange rate from 1170 to 1460

NORV   dave ur living in LALA land

Dave   NORV WHERE or WHERE is that 100 trillion?????

NORV  No..this is not a question of "knowing it all" the facts speak for themselves

Dave   YES CBIs vault is empty

NORV   the dinar is 1000x less value than dollars. so 106 billion dinar is 106 (or about) trillion dollars if equal in value.

Dave   Zig Would the link i posted vague on definition of narrow money?

NORV   That proves there can never be a significant RV of the dinar. Because Iraq could never afford 106 trillion dollars

Politician  Last Update 01/28/2022 | 10:36 AM  Political analyst Muhammad Karim Al-Saadi warned of an external scheme aimed at exploiting the political crisis within the Shiite and Kurdish homes to ignite the fuse between the parties, pointing out that the continuation of the political crisis will have catastrophic consequences for the general situation of the country.

Al-Saadi told Al-Maalouma, "Some countries that lead a normalization project in the region have worked to find a scenario for the blocs allied with them inside Iraq with the aim of passing their policies."

He added, "The regional player will be present in order to exploit the political crisis inside the Shiite and Kurdish houses to ignite the fuse of strife, and this crisis may be used to confuse the security situation to find ready accusations between the conflicting parties."

And he indicated that "the general situation in the country is threatened to deteriorate more than it is currently, and the scenario of Lebanon may be repeated inside Iraq, in the event that the political parties do not reach solutions that end the current crisis among them." https://almaalomah.me/2022/01/28/579154/

butterfly   Oil heads for sixth weekly gain amid supply concerns 2022-01-28 01:03

Shafaq News / Oil prices rose on Friday, set for their sixth weekly gain, amid concerns of tight supplies as major producers continue their policy of limited output increases amid rising fuel demand.

Brent crude futures climbed 45 cents, or 0.5%, to $89.79 a barrel at 0429 GMT, after falling 62 cents during the previous day. However, prices did reach $91.04 earlier in that session, the highest since October 2014.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 50 cents, or 0.6%, to $87.11 a barrel, having declined 74 cents on Thursday. WTI also reached a seven-year high of $88.54 earlier in the session.

Both Brent and WTI are set to rise for a sixth week, the longest weekly streak since October, when Brent prices climbed for seven weeks while WTI gained for nine.

This year, prices have gained about 15% amid geopolitical tensions between Russia, the world's second-largest oil producer and a key natural gas provider to Europe, and the West over Ukraine as well as threats to the United Arab Emirates from Yemen's Houthi movement that have raised concerns about energy supply.

The market is focusing on a Feb. 2 meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and allies led by Russia, a group known as OPEC+.

OPEC+ is likely to stick with a planned rise in its oil output target for March, several sources in the group told Reuters.

An increase in oil output by producer nations cashing in on expensive crude has depleted the cushion of spare capacity that protects the market from sudden shocks and raised the risk of price spikes or even fuel shortages.

On the demand side, crude oil imports in China, the world's biggest importer of the commodity, could rebound by a much as 7% this year, reversing 2021's rare decline as buyers step up purchases for new refining units and to replenish low inventories, analysts and oil company officials said.   Source: Reuters

butterfly   Path to Government Formation in Iraq 28th January 2022 in Politics

By Hamzeh Hadad, for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

Path to Government Formation in Iraq

How Violence and Elite Sectarianism lead to Consensus Governments

About three months after the Iraqi parliamentary election of October 10, 2021, no new government has been formed yet.

Previous elections show that it takes time until the three presidencies - the speaker of parliament, the president and the prime minister - are decided upon, as only then, a new cabinet can be formed.

While Iraq's political factions are negotiating possible constellations Hamzeh Hadad, Marsin Alshamary and Hashim al-Rikabi address the impact the new electoral system had on the vote, the role of independent candidates and new political parties, and what it takes to form the next government.

In part one of the publication series Hamzeh Hadad analyzes the Path to Government Formation in Iraq.

And objection to documents inside the dome of Parliament.

Abdul Karim added, “The seventh of next month will be important and clear to everyone and will witness the vote on Hoshyar Zebari as president of the Republic of Iraq,” noting that “all accusations and rhetoric against Zebari’s person, everyone knows their goals and objectives and who stands behind them, and there is a clear message that Zebari’s weight is likely to win.” The position made some parties look for such methods, and as the saying goes (whoever does not reach grapes says that they are sour).

butterfly   He added, “Zebari has strength, cunning, and seriousness in occupying the position, and there are many advantages that give him priority to succeed in the position. As for what happened in the session of his dismissal when he was a minister, everyone knows that it was a purely political session and far from professional from some at the time, even if Zebari had any indication with me.”

Integrity, he was arrested and could not run for the position of President of the Republic, and his request was legally rejected,” stressing that “those who object to Zebari must stay away from publishing offensive images in the streets or go out with directed demonstrations, and they have to go and object with evidence and documents and within the legal frameworks within The parliament dome, which houses the representatives of the Iraqi people.   burathanews.com

Butterfly   Only In Iraq..A Corrupt Minister Returns To Be President

01/27/2022 | 2:42 PM   Only In Iraq..A Corrupt Minister Returns To Be PresidentAktham Al-Baghdadi..

It is said that a corrupt minister who was sacked by the people’s representatives, convicted, instead of being held accountable and tried, is back as a candidate for the presidency!! Hoshyar Zebari, the minister who held the position of foreign minister for two terms in the first and second al-Maliki governments, and then as finance minister in the government of Haider al-Abadi, which witnessed the end of his government work after an interrogation that ousted him in 2016 on charges of corruption, personal use and monopoly of the position. To the scene again as President of the Republic.

The story of the interrogation began in the summer of 2016, when Parliament embarked on a series of interrogations of a number of Abadi’s ministers, Zebari was among them. Representative Haitham al-Jubouri submitted a list supported by evidence and documents condemning Minister Zebari, so that the Council set August 25, 2016 as the date for the interrogation session.

The interrogation was based on three files:

1- He spent about two billion dinars (one million and 800 dollars) travel cards for his protection elements who live in Erbil.

2- He spent about 900 million dinars (800 thousand dollars) to restore his house in the fortified Green Zone.

3- Spending a huge amount to rent a house for his personal secretary, as well as large loans outside the legal contexts of a number of merchants.

The interrogation session began with 12 questions from the questioned deputy, documented by evidence, as they focused on corruption files in the Ministry of Finance, and the minister’s response was timid and evasive.

Embarrassment was evident on his features despite the attempts of the Democratic Party deputies to which Zebari belongs to create chaos and commotion to influence the course of the session, which amounted to fistfights and verbal altercations, but the session continued and Zebari was unable to give convincing answers to the deputies. Things that were vague.

The interrogation session ended on a date set by Parliament for another session in which the deputies will vote whether or not they are satisfied with Zebari’s answers. Less than a month after the interrogation session, the Iraqi parliament set a special session on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 to decide on the dismissal or renewal of confidence from Zebari, against the background of accusations of financial corruption. .

The session was held despite being preceded by a round of bargaining and attempts by the Democratic Party to save their minister. Did the attempts succeed for you?

butterfly   The answer, dear reader, in this news that was broadcast in the media on the day of the session, “The House of Representatives voted by secret ballot to withdraw confidence from Zebari, which resulted in 158 deputies voting in approval for the minister’s dismissal, while 77 deputies voted against, and 14 deputies reserved the vote. “.

After that session, Zebari became a minister, an article from the Al-Abadi government and his corruption files before the judiciary, who also demanded him through the public prosecution with a dangerous file raised in the interrogation in addition to the files above and the file I conveyed to you as reported by the French Press Agency.

The Iraqi Public Prosecution demanded the Minister of Finance, Hoshyar Zebari, to reveal the identity of the person who managed to smuggle 6.5 billion dollars.

Judge Abdul-Sattar Bayrakdar, a spokesman for the judiciary, said that “the Public Prosecution officially requests” the Minister of Finance “to clarify his statements regarding the name of the person who mentioned in one of the local media that he transferred” 6.5 billion and a half billion dollars to his “personal account to take legal measures.” his right.”

butterfly   Even today, the files of Hoshyar Zebari are still there, despite not being held accountable, and he may try to evade that by nominating him for the presidency of the republic. Will he who has been convicted of wasting public money entrusted with the highest authority that is supposed to observe the constitution and ensure its protection?!

This is the tip of the iceberg of the accusations that are chasing Zebari, and in other articles we will review the evidence of the corruption of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s candidate for the presidency.almaalomah.me

A member of the framework, Aid al-Hilali, told / the information /, that “the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, is putting great pressure on the Shiite blocs by nominating Hoshyar Zebari for the position of the presidency of the Iraqi republic, as he is stubborn to nominate Barham Salih for the position.”

He added, “The forces of the coordination framework and most of the other political blocs, such as the extension and radiance of Kanon and the new generation, decided to enter the next parliament session and vote for Barham Salih for the presidency in response to Barzani’s party’s nomination of Hoshyar Zebari.”

Politician Last Update 01/27/2022 | 6:02 PM  On Thursday, Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Al-Fateh Alliance, warned against the continuation of Kurdish differences, indicating that this would reflect on the overall situation in Iraq.

Nassif said in a statement to / the information /, that "the lawsuit that she submitted to the Federal Court regarding determining the authority to receive the largest bloc in the first session, was it submitted to the president of the age or to the elected president, and it was not against any particular party."

She added that “the aim of filing the lawsuit is to establish a custom for the upcoming constitutional stages so that we do not remain obsessed with the problematic side,” noting that “the Federal Court’s recent decision regarding the legitimacy of the session established a future custom by determining the role of the age chief in the first session, which determined his authority only to administer the session to elect the president and his two deputies. It is noteworthy that Representative Alia Nassif filed a lawsuit with the Federal Court regarding the largest bloc and what is the authority authorized to receive the lawsuit, the head of age or the elected president, and the court postponed the ruling to the first of next February. https://almaalomah.me/2022/01/27/579065/

Butterfly   Al-Maliki comments on Al-Sadr's condition to exclude him: I'm open-handed for the interests of Iraq 2022-01-27 08:36

Shafaq News/ The State of Law Coalition leader commented to the Sadrist movement leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, who expressed readiness to cooperate with all the Shiite Coordination Framework in the new government except for Nouri al-Maliki.

"Usually, in my political and social life, I do not comment to those who personalize the national political differences, and I respond to them in the political and security fields, in defense of Iraq and the security of citizens." Al-Maliki said on Twitter.

"from a position of strength, power, and a sense of responsibility, I say to everyone looking for disagreements, grudges, and hatred; I'm open-handed for the best relations that are in the interest of Iraq and its people" the Head of the State of Law added.

Al-Maliki said that if the relations are not for the country's interest, "I do not like and do not welcome any partnership with any party."

On Thursday, the Al-Fateh Alliance revealed that the leader of the Sadrist Movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, offered the portfolio of the Ministry of Interior to Hadi Al-Ameri in exchange for disengaging the alliance with the Head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki.

The leader of Al-Fateh, Ali Al-Fatlawi, told Shafaq News Agency, "The Framework refuses to leave the State of Law coalition leader alone in the opposition and not participate in the next government. His coalition has many parliamentary seats which entitled him to assume three Ministerial portfolios in the next government."

butterfly   "Muqtada al-Sadr, presented to the leader of the Fatah Alliance Hadi al-Amiri the portfolio of the Interior Ministry, in exchange for entering into one alliance with the Sadrist bloc and forming a majority government without Al-Maliki."

Al-Fatlawi confirmed that this proposal was rejected, and Al-Amiri stressed that the Framework would ally as one unit. Otherwise, it will turn to the opposition or the boycott."

Earlier, A source in the Shiite Coordination Framework revealed that the Head of the "Fatah" alliance would submit a proposal to the Sadrist Movement leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, regarding the formation of the next Iraqi government.

The source told Shafaq News Agency that today, Al-Amiri would hand over Al-Sadr a proposal that the Framework parties participate in the "Majority" government with the Sadrist.

"The State of Law Coalition will also participate in the new government along with the Al-Fateh Alliance and the Sadrist, but its head, Nouri al-Maliki, will not assume any executive position in the next government, according to al-Sadr's condition."

Muqtada al-Sadr, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Takadum, and Azm alliances tried to include the Shiite Framework into the next government to no avail.

Al-Sadr rejects any participation for al-Maliki, (a prominent part of the Framework) in the national majority government.

Al-Sadr said in a televised speech, "I invited Hadi Al-Amiri, Qais Al-Khazali, and Faleh Al-Fayyad (leaders of the Framework) to participate in the majority government, on condition that Al-Maliki would not participate, but they refused."

He said he will ally with "whoever puts Iraq's national interests first." That is an indication, Iraqi officials and Western diplomats say, that he may exclude some Iran-backed Shiite blocs in favor of parties with cross-sectarian support.

butterfly   The Sadrist bloc emerged as the clear winner with 73 seats in the 329-seat parliament. Takadum party, one of two main Sunni political groups and led by the speaker of the outgoing parliament Mohammed al-Halbousi, followed with 37 seats. Former prime minister Nouri al-Maliki's State of Law bloc came third with 33 seats.

The Iran-backed al-Fatah Alliance won only 17 seats, compared with 45 in 2018.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) won 31 seats, while the Kurdistan Alliance, led by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), won only 17 seats. https://www.shafaq.com/en/Iraq-News/Al-Maliki-comments-on-Al-Sadr-s-condition-to-exclude-him-I-m-open-handed-for-the-interests-of-Iraq

butterfly   Parliament to vote for a president o February 7th 2022-01-27 09:06

Shafaq News/ Iraqi parliament will hold a vote to determine who will succeed the incumbent President of the Republic, Barham Salih, on February 7th.

Endorsed by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Salih will be running for a second term in office.

However, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), who secured 31 seats in the recent parliamentary election-well ahead of the PUK's 18, has put forth the name of Hoshyar Zebari, a member of the KDP's Politburo and Iraq's former Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Talks between the PUK and KDP collapsed with the two leading Kurdish parties engaged in a strained war of words heated with reciprocal recriminations.

A few days after lifting their suspension following an order by Iraq's supreme court, the Parliament Speaker, Mohammad al-Halboosi, and his deputies convened earlier today to deliberate the procedures related to nominating and electing the next president.

A statement issued afterward said that the parliament presidium will announce a list of eligible candidates on January 31st. https://www.shafaq.com/en/Iraq-News/Parliament-to-vote-for-a-president-o-February-7th

butterfly   Oil falls as U.S. Fed's pending interest rate hike spooks investors 2022-01-27 00:35

Shafaq News/ Oil prices fell on Thursday as the U.S. dollar strengthened following signs that the U.S. Federal Reserve will tighten monetary policy in the world's biggest oil user.

Futures pulled back amid a broader decline in financial markets triggered by the March interest rate increase telegraphed by the Fed and as the dollar climbed against its major peers. Dollar-denominated oil becomes more expensive for buyers using other currencies when the greenback gains.

Brent crude futures were down 57 cents, or 0.9%, to $89.18 a barrel at 0440 GMT, after earlier falling by as much as 1.1% to $89. Brent climbed 2% on Wednesday.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were down 83 cents, or 0.9%, to $86.52 a barrel, after falling by as much as 1.2% to $86.34. WTI gained 2% in the previous session.

"It could be a strong U.S. dollar at play after the Federal Open Markets Committee signalled rates will rise," said Commonwealth Bank analyst Vivek Dhar.

The dollar rose on higher U.S. Treasury yields, lifting the U.S. dollar index, which measures the greenback against major peers, to 96.604, near five-week highs.

Crude prices surged on Wednesday, with Brent climbing to $90 a barrel for the first time in seven years, amid the tensions between Ukraine and Russia, the world's second-largest oil producer, that has fanned fears of energy supply disruptions to Europe.

butterfly   Commonwealth Bank's Dhar echoed those concerns, listing that along with the Omicron coronavirus variant not impacting oil demand as badly as initially feared and efforts by OPEC and its allies, known as OPEC+, to boost supply not materialising as supportive for oil prices.

OPEC missed its planned supply increase target in December, highlighting capacity constraints that are limiting supply as global demand recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

OPEC+ is gradually relaxing 2020's output cuts as demand recovers from the demand collapse that year. But many smaller producers can't raise supply and others have been wary of pumping too much in case of renewed COVID-19 setbacks.

"Continued supply challenges and mounting Russia-Ukraine tensions continue to support crude oil prices. It is down slightly today but I think it is nothing more than a technical move," said Howie Lee, economist at OCBC in Singapore.

An increase in crude oil and gasoline inventories in the United States alleviated some of the concerns about supply.

Crude inventories rose by 2.4 million barrels in the week to Jan. 21 to 416.2 million barrels, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 728,000-barrel drop, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Gasoline stockpiles rose by 1.3 million barrels last week to 247.9 million barrels, the EIA said, the most since February 2021.   Source: Reuters

Butterfly   Most Notably The Dollar .. Al-Maliki: The New Parliament Will Reconsider The Decisions Of His Former Counterpart

02/26/2022 | 11:47 AM   The representative of the coordination framework, Durgham Al-Maliki, confirmed, on Wednesday, that the new parliament will reconsider the decisions taken by the previous parliament, including raising the dollar exchange rate.

<

Al-Maliki said in a statement to “The Information”, that “the coordination framework is moving towards the return of the dollar exchange rate to its previous price and correcting the mistakes and lapses caused by the previous parliament.”

He added, “The financial abundance of the Central Bank, the stability of the economic situation in the country, and the high price of a barrel of crude oil make it imperative for us, during the upcoming sessions, to call on the government to reduce the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar.”

Al-Maliki pointed out that “the exchange rate remaining high is unjustified, and therefore the only Iraqi citizen who pays the price hike tax.”

In a previous statement, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad Al-Sihoud, criticized the policy of Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government, stressing that it had failed miserably in various files. finished/ 25 h almaalomah.me

butterfly   Economist: Iraq May Get Half A Trillion Dollars Annually If It Is Linked To The Silk Road

01/26/2022 | 6:42 PM   Economist - Iraq May Get Half A Trillion Dollars Annually If It Is Linked To The Silk RoadInformation / special

Economic analyst Younis Al-Kaabi said, on Wednesday, that if Iraq agreed to the Silk Road project, it would generate revenues of more than $500 billion annually, while referring to the project, which would revive the entire economic aspect of the country.

Al-Kaabi told the agency, “Information”, that “the initiative put forward by China, which includes more than 64 countries, is not just a transportation road project, but a package of important economic projects such as transportation, tourism, and the establishment of industries and oil and industrial facilities,” noting that “the project also includes the construction of roads.” Fast, ports and transportation lines shorten the long sea routes that are now used by global maritime trade.”

He added, “Iraq has not yet taken a decision about its approval of the Silk Road project. If approved, it will not bear any costs related to the project, but the entire initiative will bear China’s high costs,” noting that “the volume of investment in the project is currently approximately $500 billion, and it is possible that Iraq’s revenues from revenues through transit will be much more than this number, because most of global trade will pass through Iraq.”

butterfly   Al-Kaabi explained, “The revenues of the Silk Road will be the first and main axis that enters Iraq, followed by oil, meaning that it will reduce its dependence on the oil side only,” stressing that “the project will revive the entire economic aspect of the country and even the country’s infrastructure will change to be compatible with China’s standards for the establishment of this road.” Global”.

The analyst concluded by saying, “China will try to transfer its industries and establish new industries to the countries that participate in this initiative to shorten costs and be at preferential prices, and thus provide many job opportunities in establishing this road and in the industries that follow it.”   almaalomah.me

A member of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption coalition, Muhammad Rahim Al-Rubaie, revealed, on Wednesday, that Iraq has left the ranking of the ten most corrupt countries in the world.

The head of the Al-Nahrain Network for Integrity Support called for “the need to pay attention to freedom of expression and support the press, which are the two indicators that Transparency International greatly adopts, which will achieve additional points for Iraq and enhance its position on the Transparency International Index,” stressing the need “to legislate laws on the right to access information, and activate And the application of Financial Management Law No. 6 of 2019 and the application of the principle of transparency stipulated in the law in its tenth chapter, which raises Iraq to another level of this indicator.

Al-Rubaie said, in a statement reported by the official “Al-Sabah” newspaper, that “Iraq has followed several policies, including the adoption of the national strategy to combat corruption, which will be launched during the next few months by the Integrity Commission, in partnership with civil society organizations and the private sector,” referring to The strategy “will diagnose the sources of corruption and divide them into political, social, administrative and financial.”

Al-Rubaie added, "The quota system in the distribution of positions has clearly affected the treatment of corruption, and we hope that the Federal Service Council will limit the influence of quotas in government institutions." https://almaalomah.me/2022/01/26/578714/

butterfly   Iranian barter for how long?

Bartering for the confiscation of human freedoms in exchange for the achievement of immediate political goals is a common game and is not new. It is perhaps one of the oldest politicians' games, but at the same time, it is the worst. It is usually associated with dictatorial regimes.

I remember that when I, along with thousands of others, was languishing in the prisons of the former military regime in Libya, we were very sympathetic to the non-Libyan prisoners, of different nationalities and colors who shared our ordeal, knowing that they were imprisoned to be papers in the hands of the regime that it would barter with in exchange for the release of agents He has those who have committed acts that violate the laws of the countries in which they were found and forcing the authorities in those countries to arrest, prosecute and imprison them.

The game was, at that time, scandalous and unfortunate, and it was constantly played in public without pity or pity for human souls and for the pain and deprivation they and their families suffer from as a result of it.

It was not possible to stop it, because the regime of Colonel Gaddafi, at that time, especially during periods of intense hostility, which are many, with neighboring or geographically distant Arab regimes, or with other Western countries, did not find a way out of the predicaments it caused except by the arbitrary arrest of the citizens of those countries. that the hostility disputes, to barter with them or to use them as political cards to exert pressure. It is worth noting that the game of barter differs, in form and in substance, on the issues of exchanging spies that take place between countries, and are circulated in the media or under a cover of secrecy, and it spread, often during the Cold War, between the two poles of the conflict.

butterfly   Our sympathy for these prisoners and their ordeals and suffering did not stop with the end of the prison. It continues even after we leave it and restore our freedoms. For this reason, the cases of foreign prisoners, wherever they are and wherever they are, have been raised by the media, arousing my personal sympathy and drawing my interest, without a doubt, with thousands of others in various countries of the world.

The media these days are talking about a 77-year-old American citizen, Barry Rosen, who was imprisoned in Iran for 444 days, between 1979-1981, and at that time worked as a media attaché at the US Embassy in Tehran. Mr. Rosen came to Vienna for the purpose of protesting in front of the building where the meetings between the Iranian delegation and European delegations are being held in the recent negotiations aimed at persuading the government of Tehran to reach a new agreement on its nuclear program, which former US President Donald Trump canceled in 2018, followed by the imposition of severe sanctions against Iran.

From there, Mr. Rosen declared a hunger strike, intended to morally pressure the European delegations into the meetings to put pressure on the Iranian delegation to make a condition in any possible agreement that the Iranian regime release foreign prisoners in its prisons.

The prisoners were all arrested on charges, the Tehran government alleged, of spying or spreading rumors about the regime in the international media. Although international human rights organizations denounce the violations of international laws and treaties, and the violation of the freedoms of innocent people, the government of Tehran continues its violations, without showing the slightest concern.

butterfly   Mr. Rosen, despite his age, is still adamant about his position. But, he said recently, he began to feel tired physically. It is noteworthy that his protest position reached many foreign prisoners in Tehran, and they declared their solidarity with him. Two of them recently announced their hunger strike. It is noted that Mr. Rosen is distinguished by his anger at policy makers in America and Europe.

The reason, according to him, is that instead of working hand in hand and in a team spirit to be able to achieve the required goals related to the release of prisoners, they competed among themselves for the release of their compatriots.

This fierce competition provided the Iranian regime with sufficient space to exert pressure on each country separately, and to impose its conditions to achieve its goals. Mr. Rosen believes that the policy of "divide and rule" perfectly applies to Iran's policy in this regard.

The Iranian game is not different from that of Colonel Gaddafi's regime. But what is happening in Iran during the current years has surpassed all precedents.

Political commentators see the people-trading game as profitable for the Tehran government in many ways. And that, over time, it acquired experiences and expertise, which enabled it to achieve its goals. The problem is that its persistence in playing the game has significantly worsened in recent years, especially against its citizens who hold the nationalities of other countries.

Apparently, individual solutions to the problem, Mr. Warson said, are futile. Until such time as the countries of the world realize this fact, the Iranian barter series will continue its sad episodes. Is there anyone who remembers? https://rawabetcenter.com/archives/141507

butterfly   Russia considers the idea of imposing any sanctions on Putin "devastating"

The Kremlin considered today (Wednesday) that the idea ofimposing sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin, which his US counterpart Joe Biden spoke about yesterday (Tuesday), is "devastating."

“Politically, this is not painful, it is destructive,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the press. Considering that these sanctions will not have an effect.

In response to a reporter's question about whether he intends to impose sanctions on the Russian president personally, Biden responded, Tuesday, by saying, "Yes," and then added, "I can picture it."

He noted that if Russia invaded Ukraine "entirely", or "even a lot less", there would be "enormous repercussions" and "it would change that world."

However, Biden did not specify the nature of possible sanctions against Putin.

When Washington imposes sanctions on foreign figures, this often translates to freezing their assets and preventing dealings with the United States.

Peskov pointed out that Russian law prevents senior officials from owning assets abroad in principle, considering that such penalties are "never painful" for the Russian authorities.

In recent months, Russia has deployed tens of thousands of soldiers on the border with Ukraine and intensified its maneuvers, raising fears of an invasion.

While Moscow denies having any intention of doing so, the Kremlin insists on written security guarantees, including a pledge that Kiev will not join NATO.

After a series of diplomatic talks in Europe last week, aimed at defusing the crisis, a meeting of diplomatic advisors to the Russian, Ukrainian, and French presidents, and to the German chancellor, will be held, on Wednesday, under the "Normandy" format, in which Paris and Berlin play the mediating role.

"I hope it will be a good and open discussion, and will lead to maximum results," Peskov said. https://rawabetcenter.com/archives/141504

butterfly   Adviser Saleh: sovereign wealth funds must have been introduced in Iraq 18 years ago 2022-01-26 04:42

Shafaq News / Adviser of prime minister for economic affairs, Muzhar Mohammad Saleh, said today that sovereign wealth funds must have been introduced in Iraq 18 years ago, following the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime.

Salih told Shafaq News agency that sovereign wealth funds are not hard to be established, noting that they protect the economy during crises.

"Currently, the government tends to establish a stability or a sovereign wealth fund, to protect the General Budget and the Iraqi economy", he added.

However, Salih noted that the generation fund (which is a sovereign wealth fund) is formed when there is financial surplus, and when the current generation's desires are not prioritized against the future generations' ambitions, pointing that the fund must be a source of protection in times of need.

A sovereign wealth fund, sovereign investment fund, or social wealth fund is a state-owned investment fund that invests in real and financial assets such as stocks, bonds, real estate, precious metals, or in alternative investments such as private equity fund or hedge funds. butterfly   IMF cuts growth forecasts for U.S., China and world as Omicron spreads 2022-01-26 01:42

Shafaq News/ The International Monetary Fund lowered its economic forecasts for the United States, China and the global economy on Tuesday, and said uncertainty about the pandemic, inflation, supply disruptions and U.S. monetary tightening posed further risks.

"We project global growth this year at 4.4%, 0.5 percentage point lower than previously forecast, mainly because of downgrades for the United States and China," Gita Gopinath, the IMF's No. 2 official, read from her blog.

The IMF said the rapid spread of the Omicron variant had led to renewed mobility restrictions in many countries and increased labor shortages, while supply disruptions were continuing to fuel inflation. Omicron was expected to weigh on economic activity in the first quarter, but ease up thereafter, given that it was associated with less severe illness, the IMF said.

Escalating conflict between Russia and Ukraine could boost energy prices, keeping headline inflation at elevated levels for longer, Gopinath told reporters as the global lender updated its World Economic Outlook.

Global growth is expected to slow to 3.8% in 2023, a 0.2 percentage-point uptick from the previous forecast in October, the IMF said, adding the increase was largely mechanical after current drags on growth dissipate in the second half of 2022.

Overall, the pandemic was now projected to result in cumulative economic losses of $13.8 trillion through 2024, compared to the previous forecast of $12.5 trillion, Gopinath, who previously served as the IMF's chief economist, said.

The IMF cut its forecast for U.S. growth by 1.2 percentage points given the failure of U.S. President Joe Biden to pass a massive social and climate spending package, earlier tightening of U.S. monetary policy and continued supply shortages.

butterfly   The U.S. economy is now forecast to grow by 4% in 2022 after expanding 5.6% in 2021, with growth seen easing further to 2.6% in 2023, the IMF said.

"We are certainly living in very turbulent times," Gopinath said, adding that there was still a "tremendous uncertainty" about how much the Federal Reserve would raise interest rates and over what period of time, as well as rising geopolitical tensions around the world.

She said rising interest rates should address exuberance in financial markets and usher in "a more orderly correction" as long as the Fed communicated clearly about its policy.

The IMF downgraded China's forecast by 0.8 percentage point to 4.8% in 2022 after 8.1% growth in 2021, with growth to edge higher again to 5.2% in 2023.

Pandemic-induced disruptions related to China's zero-tolerance COVID-19 policy and protracted financial stress among property developers prompted the downgrade, the IMF said.

The IMF also cut its forecast for the Euro area by 0.4 percentage point to 3.9% in 2022, and said growth there would slow to 2.5% in 2023.

The IMF cut by 1.2 percentage points each its 2022 growth forecast for Brazil and Mexico, Latin America's largest economies. Brazil is now seen growing 0.3% this year and Mexico 2.8%, while the region is expected to grow 2.4%, 0.6 percentage point below the previous forecast. India and Japan saw their forecasts upgraded somewhat.

butterfly   The IMF cautioned that the emergence of new COVID-19 variants could prolong the pandemic and induce renewed economic disruptions, while supply chain disruptions, energy price volatility, and localized wage pressures posed further risks.

It revised up its 2022 inflation forecasts for both advanced and developing economies, and said elevated price pressures were likely to persist longer than previously forecast given ongoing supply chain disruptions and high energy prices.

It said inflation was expected to average 3.9% in advanced economies and 5.9% in emerging market and developing economies in 2022 before subsiding in 2023, aided by moderated growth in fuel and food prices over that period.

While economies were continuing to recover from the shock of the pandemic, the pace of the recoveries was diverging widely between rich and poorer countries, the IMF said.

While advanced economies are projected to return to pre-pandemic trend this year, several emerging markets and developing economies face sizeable output losses, the IMF said.

Seventy million more people were living in extreme poverty after the pandemic, setting back the progress in poverty reduction by several years, Gopinath wrote in her blog.

The IMF said it was critical to ensure worldwide access to vaccines, tests, and treatments to reduce the risk of further dangerous COVID-19 variants, while many countries would need to raise interest rates to curb inflation pressures.

Gopinath noted that 60% of low-income countries were already in or at high risk of debt distress, and urged the Group of 20 to speed up debt restructuring processes and suspend debt service payments while the restructurings are being negotiated.   Source: Reuters

Butterfly   Exclusive.. Qaani in Baghdad carrying a specific message regarding the formation of the Iraqi government

2022-01-25 07:47   Exclusive.. Qaani in Baghdad carrying a specific message regarding the formation of the Iraqi governmentShafaq News/ An informed political source revealed, on Tuesday, that the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, Ismail Qaani, informed the leaders of the coordination framework of the necessity of entering the government of the national majority advocated by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr.

The source, who asked not to be identified, said, in a statement to Shafak News Agency, that “the official of the Iranian-Iraqi security file, Ismail Qaani, called on all leaders of the Coordination Framework Forces to preserve the form and content of the Shiite house by accepting the conditions of al-Sadr that require the exclusion of the leader of the State of Law coalition. Nouri al-Maliki and prevented him from participating in the government.”

He added that Qaani “emphasized the rearrangement of the framework forces in a way that preserves their electoral gains through a new structure that adopts a single leadership, that is, the convergence of all representatives of the framework forces under the title of the Fatah Alliance led by Hadi al-Amiri, and to go to tenderness and show allegiance by reviving the Shiite house led by al-Sadr and forming the government. new”.

butterfly   A scapegoat to protect Al-Maliki from Al-Sadr

The source pointed out that “Qaani hinted at giving al-Maliki guarantees that he would not be held accountable for the files that al-Sadr was waving about, as well as preparing a ram and referring it to the concerned authorities under the banner of holding those involved in corruption and waste of public money accountable, not to mention other requirements and this is the task of the Iranian official who asked the framework to resolve position and not to forfeit a last chance to unite the Shiite house without al-Maliki.”

The source suggested that “Tehran would accept the scenario of a national majority government led by al-Sadr, not out of fear or in order to preserve its interests in Iraq, but rather in order to overcome a crisis afflicting its international negotiations related to the nuclear file.”

Conditions of the coordination frame on the chest

The source added, “The meeting of the leaders of the coordination framework today is supposed to lead to decisions that are in line with what the official in the Iranian-Iraqi file aspires to bring down the curtain on the negotiations and controversy of the framework and al-Sadr, and the issue of forming a government will be resolved quickly.”

He stressed that “the framework forces will set conditions for al-Sadr in return for joining him in his next government, including granting the Ministry of Interior portfolio to the Shiites exclusively, in addition to preserving the ministerial entitlement for its components.”

The commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Esmail Qaani, arrived today, Tuesday, in the capital, Baghdad, on an unannounced visit.

butterfly   Qaani recently held a round of talks in the capital, Baghdad and Najaf, in which he did not reach results that would lead to a Shiite consensus on forming a government.

An informed political source told Shafaq News Agency, that Qaani will hold meetings with the Iraqi political forces, to discuss the file of forming the new government, and the latest results of the negotiations between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement.

Attempts to enter parties from the coordination framework in a national majority government that Muqtada al-Sadr is confronting, jointly with the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and the alliance of those who advanced headed by Muhammad al-Halbousi, and Azm headed by Khamis al-Khanjar, faltered.

This was confirmed by al-Sadr, when he expressly rejected the participation of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, in the government of the national majority that he seeks to form.

Al-Sadr said in a televised speech, followed by Shafak News Agency, “I invited Hadi Al-Amiri, Qais Al-Khazali and Faleh Al-Fayyad to participate in the majority government, provided that Al-Maliki did not participate, but they refused to do so,” adding, “The coordinating framework forces mortgaged Al-Maliki’s participation by her coming to Al-Hananah and we told them: Your comfort.”

butterfly   Shafak News has learned that the comprehensive coordinating framework of Shiite forces is trying to persuade Al-Sadr to form a “settlement government”, in the event that entry into a unified Shiite bloc that includes all parties fails, and this proposal enjoys the support of specific Iranian parties.

However, the private discussions between al-Sadr and the coordination framework did not reach a specific agreement, in addition to al-Sadr’s rejection of the framework’s attempts to include Nuri al-Maliki in the new government synthesis.  shafaq.com

Butterfly   State Of Law: Al-Kazemi's Government Set Iraq Back 20 Years

Politician  Last Update 01/25/2022 | 3:55 PM  Today, Tuesday, the representative of the State of Law coalition, Muhammad Al-Sihoud, criticized the policy of Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government, and while I consider that it set Iraq back 20 years, he pointed to its failure in various files, especially the security ones.

Chihod told the "Information" agency, that "the current government's shortcomings are clear in all files, especially security," noting that "the support provided to the security services is very shameful and is not commensurate with the size of the great and dangerous challenges facing the country."

He added, "The political blocs currently bear a great responsibility to expedite the formation of a strong national government that can impose its hegemony and control over all Iraqi lands without the presence of any occupier, and to support the security services and the popular crowd."

The representative of State of Law stated, "The Popular Mobilization and the security forces were able to put a real imprint and eliminate the terrorist ISIS in an unexpected short period," stressing that "they are able once again to impose their control and achieve complete security and stability for Iraq."

Chihod concluded by saying, "The current government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi has failed miserably in various files, and has set Iraq back in all fields, especially security, to more than 20 years." https://almaalomah.me/2022/01/25/578613/

butterfly   What is the truth of the agreement between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement regarding the position of prime minister?

The political crises that came after the establishment of the existing political system in Iraq since 2003 continue as a result of the deepening differences between the one component and the other components, and with reference to the political differences that have disrupted many projects and laws that concern citizens and contribute to the progress of the country, sharp disagreements resurface today over the nomenclature The new prime minister and who has the right to form the new government, after Iraq witnessed on October 10 last year, early elections as a result of the popular protests that the country witnessed at the end of 2019.

The essence of the political differences to form the government lies between the desire of the Sadrist movement , which won the October elections, to form a national majority government, and the coordination framework that includes the rest of the Shiite forces that wish to form a consensual government, provided that the prime minister submits to a Shiite-Shiite political consensus and the adoption of naming ministers On the number of points to be distributed among the rest of the other blocks.

Dissolving the factions and handing over weapons to the state

butterfly   The leader of the Sadrist movement , Muqtada al-Sadr , confirms that the movement has relinquished the ministers in the government of Mustafa Al-Kazemi, noting that the movement is still prioritizing public interests over private ones, and al-Sadr said in a speech that his office broadcast excerpts from it, "We were and are still offering public interests over private ones," explaining "The problem that arises is that Muqtada al-Sadr is anti-Shiite and anti-Shia," he added, "In Al-Kazemi's government, we gave up the ministers and refused to be any ministry of the Sadrist movement," stressing "the organization of the popular crowd and restore its prestige and reputation, because many enemies are trying to distort it." I heard it.”

Al-Sadr revealed that, “In a previous tweet, I called for the gathering of the Shiite house, and I did not receive any answer or interaction, definitively.” To return to the elections, and they signed a reform document in order to return to the elections, and their signatures are present,” he added, “I hastened to write conditions, including dissolving the factions, handing over weapons to the state and fighting corruption, which are between 15 and 20 points that they did not sign.”

Conversations continue

butterfly  In turn, the leader in the coordination framework, Rafiq al-Salihi, revealed that there is a tendency among parties from the framework to ally with al-Sadr and proceed with the formation of the government, provided that al-Maliki goes to the parliamentary opposition. At that time, Nouri al-Maliki will be outside this framework, despite the efforts of al-Amiri and the negotiating team to convince al-Sadr that the Shiite House alliance will be complete and al-Maliki remain part of the government and the Shiite alliance,” he added, “But if the negotiations fail to convince al-Sadr, part of the framework will go with the current to form the government.” "Negotiations are still ongoing," he said.

A call for integration and unification of the Shiite political house

In turn, the head of the "Al-Aqd" coalition, Faleh al-Fayyadh, called for the unity of the Shiite political house and the integration between the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement, and said in a statement, "Al-Sadr will not participate in the conspiracy to tear up the Shiite house that we see on some parties," and added, "The coordinating framework is not a hostile grouping."

For the Sadrist bloc, and I do not like to say that the framework is coherent in the face of the Sadrist bloc,” referring to “the difficulty of determining the end of the scene in light of the continuous changes taking place in the political process,” and Al-Fayyad warned in his statement, “of any unconstructive alignments that took place, intentionally or unintentionally, to rupture the ranks.”

The Shiite, and that whoever pushes towards that will be a political opponent,” adding that “everyone who tries or thinks to weaken the Shiite component contributes to the division of Iraq and does not believe in the homeland.”

butterfly   An understanding between the framework and the Sadrists on the name of the Prime Minister

In turn, Aqil Al-Rudaini, a member of the "Victory" coalition, revealed that the Sadrist movement had reached an understanding with the coordination framework regarding not crossing any figure the latter does not want to head the government, according to preliminary "understandings", and Al-Rudaini said in a statement to the "Rudaw" media network, that " The coordinating framework sought from the beginning to gather the papers and the interest of the country,” adding that “any political interest that the framework goes towards,” and Al-Rudaini ruled out that there would be “big problems between the framework and the Sadrist movement, except for a slight difference in views on the future of the political process. Is it a government?”

Participation or a national majority,” and stressed that the coordination framework “seeks for national participation, given that the election results did not produce blocs that could go to the opposition and be influential in this direction.”

butterfly   Al-Rudaini said that the Sadrist movement “seeks to have a national majority government, while the Kurdish brothers may enter into one bloc or with a unified position, and the Sunni brothers have made up their minds and entered into a unified alliance,” and pointed out that the framework “looks at the country’s interest in general first, It also views its interest as a large and basic component of the Iraqi people, and considers itself to be the component with the vast majority in the Iraqi spectrum, and it looks at this level.”

The dialogues in the coming hours will lead to “the coordination framework going to the positive opposition or participation in the next government,” according to a member of the “Victory” coalition, and he stressed that “there were preliminary understandings, that the Sadrist movement nominates personalities to the cabinet and the framework has the right to object to any Personal, by the right of "veto", and this means that if the framework does not agree to this character, it will not be passed by the Sadrist movement, and this is what was agreed in principle, and it is not possible to cross any personality that does not desire the coordination framework, and this is clear through the initial understandings that took place between the two sides.”

broken bone?

butterfly   He pointed out that "it is true that there is a veto, but it is not as it is called a bone fracture, there are understandings, and if there is an interest that pertains to society in general, the framework does not stand in front of any interest that concerns the Iraqi people, and the framework will outweigh the national public interest."

Any problem with any party or any national figure, according to Al-Rudaini, who added that “the framework has constants, which are the general interest of the country. We will proceed without any problems with any political bloc, and among these matters, the future of the popular mobilization, and the future of the American forces in Iraq, after the issuance of an Iraqi parliamentary decision to expel American forces from the country.”

The coordinating framework seeks to “have understandings as the Kurdistan Democratic Party emphasizes the issues of Article 140 and the Oil and Gas Law,” according to a member of the “Victory” coalition, who confirmed that the framework is with “agreement on strategic matters that are agreed upon in accordance with the constitution,” and refuses The coordination framework, according to Aqil Al-Rudaini, “any external interference that seeks to destabilize security and stability and external influence from regional and external countries.” https://rawabetcenter.com/archives/141467

butterfly   A Russian doctor warns of losing sight after infection with the Corona virus!

2022.01.25 - 15:32  The Russian ophthalmologist and expert in the Health Committee of the Russian State Duma, Tatiana Shilova, warned of the danger of losing sight completely as a result of infection with the Corona virus.  According to the doctor, treatment in this case will be required immediately, as in the case of a stroke or heart attack.

Covid can cause vision problems, even complete loss of vision. This is due to the fact that the Corona virus infects the vessels of the eyes. This was stated by her in an interview she gave to the Ura.ru electronic portal.

According to the doctor, if the main central stem of the eye is damaged, the person loses the sense of light, but if only the trunk branch is exposed to the disease, he can lose sight partially.

She said: “This problem occurs suddenly, not only against the background of an acute period of illness, but during the post-Covid syndrome as well, and it must be resolved immediately, that is, within a few hours, as happens in the event of strokes or heart attacks, The specialists first choose conservative treatment to eliminate bleeding, and possibly laser intervention.    https://nasnews.com/view.php?cat=78724

Butterfly   Poll: The Gulf region will witness faster growth in 2022

A Reuters poll of economists showed that the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries will witness the fastest economic growth in years, but economists have warned that the possibility of a decline in oil prices represents the biggest risk to these expectations.

Oil prices, which are a major factor driving the economy of the Gulf states, rose to their highest levels since 2014 last Wednesday, supported by escalating global political tensions in major producing countries, including the UAE and Russia, which may lead to a decline in supplies.

And 25 economists predicted in the poll, which was conducted from January 11 to 19, that the six countries will witness faster growth this year than was expected 3 months ago.

Saudi Arabia came at the top of the list of expectations, with a growth of 5.7%, followed by Kuwait and the UAE, with growth of 5.3% and 4.8%, respectively. It is expected that Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman and Bahrain will witness an average growth between 3% and 4% in 2022, and if this is achieved, this will be better. The rate of growth witnessed by these countries for several years.

“Despite the relatively tight fiscal policy and some external headwinds, we expect the GCC economies to experience faster growth in 2022 as they continue to benefit from the progress made last year,” Khadija Haq, head of research and chief economist at Emirates NBD, told Reuters. .

"Although the outlook for 2022 is still relatively constructive, a high degree of ambiguity remains, especially with regard to the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic," she added.

butterfly   At a time when the global economy is dealing with the possibility of continued inflation, expectations for prices in the region are modest but varying, and inflation is expected to remain between 2% and 2.8% this year, and the lowest reading was for the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman at 2%, and it was the highest in Qatar at 2.8%.

Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil exporter and the largest economic and political power in the region, will witness an economic growth of 5.7 percent this year. If this is achieved, it will be the fastest growth rate since 2012, when oil prices averaged about $111 a barrel.

In contrast to the increase in the average forecast in the poll conducted by Reuters last October, the expectations also showed higher increases and major declines, and the UAE economy is expected to grow by 4.8% this year, recording the fastest growth rate since 2015.

butterfly   Growth risks  -  Reliance on energy prices accompanies the risk that the economic recovery will be negatively affected by any price turmoil due to geopolitical tensions or the global economic slowdown.

And 9 out of 10 economists who answered an additional question said that any drop in oil prices and the emergence of new mutations from the Corona virus are among the biggest risks to economic growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council this year.

“Low oil prices remain the biggest risks to the GCC region, and supply chain disruptions will continue to play a role and negatively impact the global economy,” said Ralph Wegert, head of the Middle East and North Africa economic team at IHS Markit. The Gulf Cooperation Council may not be affected that much.”

Wegert added that the growth of the Gulf Cooperation Council is very much on the upside already, and the GDP growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council is based on the assumption of strong global demand for oil in 2022. Source: Reuters

ECONOMIC  01/24/2022 | 3:21 PM   Cryptocurrencies continue to bleed, which plunged the value of the most famous currency, including “Bitcoin”, to break the barrier of 34,000 dollars downwards for the first time since last July, and recorded its lowest level in 6 months.

Losses pervaded various currencies, such as Ether and Solana, in addition to the so-called meme currencies, causing the market to lose more than 400 billion dollars of its value in two days, and more than 1.4 trillion dollars in two months.

With the decline of Bitcoin, the currency has received consecutive strong strikes, 7 days ago, to exceed its total losses of 50% since last November.

The researcher in cryptocurrencies, Abdullah Al-Mashat, described in an interview with “Al-Arabiya” the significant decline in the value of cryptocurrencies, as it comes after a high peak recorded by that value, and therefore a 30% drop in cryptocurrencies is usual, but what happened far exceeds this percentage.

He pointed out that many of the small meme coins will disappear due to this strong tremor.

Many market dealers believe that there is no longer room to hide, as all risky asset classes are strongly vulnerable to correction, as several factors have played a role in the past few days in the decline of cryptocurrencies, including the upcoming US Federal Reserve policy of quantitative easing, and a warning from Russia to ban currency trading and mining. encrypted file, in addition to geopolitical reasons related to the Ukrainian file.

Accordingly, the market value of cryptocurrencies lost 1.4 trillion dollars of its market value within two months, after it touched the level of 3 trillion dollars, bringing its market value until yesterday, Saturday, about 1.6 trillion dollars, according to CoinMarketCap. https://almaalomah.me/2022/01/24/578418/

The Federal Supreme Court, earlier, issued a state order to temporarily suspend the work of the Presidency of the House of Representatives elected in the first session of the House on 9/1/2022 until the original case, which is being challenged by the two plaintiffs, members of the House of Representatives “Bassem Khashan” and “Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani” “With the legitimacy of the procedures for electing the Presidency of the Council, whose management the head of the first age was absent.

It is noteworthy that the Federal Court set January 25 as the date for deciding the case against the first parliament session   almaalomah.me

Butterfly   Towards an understanding of the financial framework agreement between Iraq and China..oil for construction

2022-01-23   The philosophy of (oil is less than construction) constitutes deducting part of the oil imports to go on the right paths, which are infrastructure projects that cross the governorates or within the governorates, including highways.

Ports, railways (high-speed trains), health (hospitals), education (schools).

Communications, industry (industrial cities), agriculture (modern irrigation methods and the goal of cultivating 10 million new acres), ring roads in Baghdad, Basra and the rest of the provinces, metro and train

Suspended, gas and oil production, electricity projects....etc. - The agreement does not constitute any loans to Iraq as long as Iraq is committed to its oil obligations with China. Rather, it is Chinese credit with a guarantee of a small share of oil so that Chinese companies can operate without fear with a cover

Export Support Corporation ( SINOSHORE )  - Chinese companies enter competitive rounds on Iraqi projects within market standards, so that Iraq chooses the best specifications, prices and the highest technology, by requiring Western companies if required  Add high and advanced technology. long article: https://burathanews.com/arabic/articles/406407

butterfly   The shape and color of the next government..!

2022-01-23  Malik Al-Azmawi || During the October demonstrations, which brought down the mind that planned the China Agreement and the engineer who laid the rules of the Silk Agreement, Mr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and at that time, the achievement of the pink dream of the Iraqi people was disappointed, and the future of its generations was lost when the rulers who came after him replaced the Chinese companies with a Korean-named American-origin company, after they installed ( Al-Kazemi) as prime minister who was conspiring to the order of America, and they ordered him to stay away from the China agreement and conclude a miserable agreement with Egypt and Jordan.

Today, after the Sadrist movement obtained the largest number of seats, it is authorized to form the next government. If the next government - whether it is Al-Kazemi who leads it or someone else - will follow the path of this government, then how evil the government and its approach is evil!

If the current recurs with faces in the presidencies, as it did with the Speaker of Parliament, and if it proceeded with the agreement to transfer Basra oil to Jordan and Egypt, and neglected the agreement with China, and if it turned a blind eye to the killers of the airport martyrs, and if the Shiite leaders were vetoed only, then [the eye of discontent shows equals]!!

butterfly    So miserable is the change that came after mass demonstrations of discontent with (Abdul-Mahdi) and the victims of which were young men of the age of roses, to bring in (Al-Kazemi), who was not even ashamed of the fault, as he traveled to America and met the humiliated killer of the victory leaders to thank them for their indolence, arrogance and aggression!

Today, the current wants to bring it back to us, to start a popular revolution like no other, especially after their intention to exclude an important segment of the political class that represents a large audience from the people of the center and the south, although tomorrow will soon see it.
