The Central Bank Of Iraq Participates In A Symposium On Its Development Initiatives At The Baghdad International Book Fair

Central Bank: Iraq's Reserves Amounted To 74 Billion Dollars

In a video clip followed by Mawazine News, the Director General of Investments at the Bank, Mazen Sabah Ahmed, said that "Iraq's foreign currency reserves amounted to 74 billion dollars, distributed geographically between 8 to 9 major countries, with various forms and assets."

He added, "This relatively high level makes Iraq in a comfortable position in terms of the adequacy of the level of foreign reserves," reassuring "about the level of Iraq's foreign reserves."

Parliamentary Investment Reveals Its Plan With The Government To Attract Investors

Economie   Today, Thursday, the Parliamentary  Committee on Economy and Investment revealed a new work plan with the government to attract foreign investors and British companies to the country.

Committee member Hussein Al-Sabri said in an interview with the "National News Center", that "the committee has a plan of action with the current government in order to create a good environment for foreign investment," stressing that "the committee worked on preparing entry visas and raising the customs tax from foreign investors with the aim of attracting them to country.”

He added that "the committee held several meetings with private sector companies to provide the largest possible number of job opportunities for graduates and other people."

Finance Minister: Direction To Build New Industrial Cities Capable Of Attracting And Providing Job Opportunities

Economie  National News Center/Baghdad  Today, Thursday, Finance Minister Ali Allawi revealed the intention to build new industrial cities and lift restrictions on free zones.

Allawi said in a speech during a workshop sponsored by him under the title: (Free Zones and Industrial Cities Capable of Attracting and Providing Employment Opportunities) with the participation of a number of governors and directors of the concerned departments and its follow-up / the National News Center /, that “the free zones are part of the country’s trade and economy, in the eighties. In the 1990s, there were no free zones, but after the oil revolution, free zones entered the Arabian Gulf,” stressing “the need to benefit from global experiences in the field of economic and industrial cities.”

He added: "Our situation in Iraq needs a new look, as we are thinking of establishing new industrial cities and working to lift restrictions in the free zones," pointing to "the importance of finding investment-attractive laws to encourage the private sector."

And he indicated that "the economic zone must have a leading role in the economy," noting that "there is a law for free zones, and it is necessary to know whether it has succeeded or needs to be modified or integrated."

He continued, "We must think about how to organize and develop industrial cities, and what legislation is required and its purpose," explaining that "the existing obstacles are very big because building new cities is difficult."

He stressed "the importance of improving the workforce through industrial cities, knowing tax and non-tax incentives, and thinking that cities should be an export base," pointing out "the need to develop a strategy during the next 10 years."

Air Navigation.. An Agreement That Enhances Iraq’s Role In Air Traffic Towards Europe And Roles That Invest In Technologies

The General Company for Air Navigation Services, one of the formations of the Ministry of Transport, confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Emirati airlines allowing the use of Iraq’s airspace for flights to Europe, and while it explained its details and practical roles that invest advanced technologies, it announced the completion of 80 completion % of the construction works of Karbala International Airport, stressing that it will turn into an international transit station.

The Services Provided

Technical Obstacles

Shaalan said that "there are technical obstacles facing the work of air navigation, the most important of which is the installation of new devices in areas that are not fully secured, as we face difficulty in installing radars or navigational devices specialized in the work of the company that helps in radar detection of transiting or descending planes in Iraqi airspace, and this is the most important technical problem facing the work of air navigation.

Staff And Training

The Director of the Air Traffic Department explained that "the air navigation cadres have undergone courses and trainings outside Iraq, as well as internal courses that took place at the Civil Aviation Institute of the Aviation Authority," noting that these courses make the trainee a specialist until he begins to work in the navigation profession and then undergoes practical training in Navigation room until the trainee reaches a stage that qualifies him for field work.   https://www.ina.iq/156665--.html
