By the end of May, Iraq's people will have their Visa and MasterCards loaded onto the new digital banking electronic system.

In June, the expectation for them is to migrate onto the QFS.

The Day of Your Appointment- Things To Do

1. Make sure you know where you are going. Arrive early so you can “get yourself together, take a deep breath”.

Do not loiter. If you are too early, stay SECURELY in the general area but not in the bank parking lot!

2. Remember to get in and get the EXCHANGE done, there a lot of other people behind you in line so be thoughtful of their time as well.

You will have time for questions at your second appointment with your new Private Banker/Wealth Manager.

3. Be discrete, be professional, and be alert and aware of your surroundings. BREATHE! Seriously consider hiring security to accompany you to your appointment or bring a trusted friend.

4. Collect business cards from everyone or take their name and phone numbers as well as the location of their regular branch office.

5. Read and Sign the NDA. If it is simple and states you cannot tell anyone except your spouse, lawyer, or CPA (These are the people that need to know how you came about your money for tax purposes) how you came about all of your new found wealth, sign it and move forward with your exchange.

Be prepared to uphold it!

If you break the terms, you could lose your newfound wealth.

If the NDA is more complex and you are not comfortable with it, simply let them know you would like to explore your options with another banking institution. They may or may not waive the NDA.

REMEMBER TO GET A COPY OF THE NDA IF YOU SIGNED IT.

The exchange rates of the US dollar decreased against the Iraqi dinar, today, Saturday, on the main stock exchange in the capital, Baghdad.

The central Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya stock exchanges in Baghdad recorded 141,200 Iraqi dinars for 100 US dollars this morning.

That the buying and selling prices decreased in exchange shops in the local markets in Baghdad, where the selling price reached 142,250 Iraqi dinars for every 100 US dollars, while the buying prices amounted to 140,250 Iraqi dinars for every 100 US dollars. LINK

DoTalkToMe: The USD is about to be dethroned, and no longer enjoy it's world domination. The world is sick and tired of being controlled by the US. If it's losses it's status and is no longer a currency of choice, all the QE printing of the USD to infinity and beyond will become similar to toilet paper. The US Federal Reserve urged on Saturday to renew a set of rules for medium-sized banks to avoid the problems that led to the collapse of the Silicon Valley bank, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

"The supervisors did not fully appreciate the extent of the vulnerabilities in the banking sector as the Silicon Valley problem began to develop," said Michael Barr, vice chair of the Federal Reserve's oversight board.

Barr added, "When the Reserve saw some complications in Silicon Valley, it did not take sufficient steps to ensure that the bank fixed these problems quickly enough."

He believed that "the mistakes made by the Fed regulators were driven in part by changes that generally relaxed rules for medium-sized banks."

"These changes hampered effective oversight by reducing standards, increasing complexity, and promoting a less assertive supervisory approach," Barr noted. LINK

Central Bank: The (POS) System Will Reduce The Problem Of Financing Deficit For Housing Projects

Economy| 02:07 - 04/29/2023 Baghdad - Mawazine News The Central Bank of Iraq explained, on Saturday, the importance of applying the (POS) system in the field of economic activity and combating money laundering and financing terrorism, and while specifying the ministries and institutions covered by the system, it confirmed that points of sale (POS) will be spread in all institutions that contain collection.

And the Central Bank said, “Points of sale (POS) will spread to all institutions that contain collection, that is, the inclusion of every institution, ministry, authority, and companies contracting with ministries that have collection or have delivery or receipt of money, which will be covered by the application of the (POS) system.”

The bank added, according to the official news agency, that "the (POS) system is optional, but it will be compulsory for ministries and institutions to provide these devices, because all credit cards will be used for the purpose of payment."

He pointed out that "the ministries covered by the system are the Ministry of Interior, Electricity, Transport, Oil, and the Hajj Authority, in addition to other ministries that will use the credit card for the purpose of electronic payment instead of (cash), which will reduce the risk of carrying money," noting: "If the card is lost, it can be disabled." And get a new card.

He explained, "The adoption of the (POS) system will raise the economic level of the country, and dealing with the bank will greatly expand, and it will transfer funds from funds hoarded in homes to funds stored in banks, which will reduce the problem of the deficit in financing housing projects or housing loans and economic projects."

And he stated, "The adoption of the (POS) system project was personally adopted by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani through cabinet meetings and its decisions that obligated ministries to use the (POS) system."

He pointed out that "the (POS) system will be used in the future, even in restaurants and delivery, and the company and shop owners will be punished if the devices are not provided, especially those that collect a lot of money."

And he continued, "There is a decision that obliges everyone who sells a house that exceeds 500 million, to enter this money into the bank, and the owner of that money is asked about the source of the money, through the KYC account opening form, in order to get rid of the issue of money laundering and terrorist financing." High Oil Prices In World Markets

Saturday 29, April 2023 10:07 | Economical Number of readings: 256 Baghdad / NINA / - Crude oil prices rose for the first time in three sessions, as the bulls sought to steer oil trade away from global economic concerns that pushed it towards a second consecutive week of losses.

Brent crude closed up 68 cents, or 0.9%, at $78.37 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate was up 46 cents, or 0.6%, at $74.76 a barrel.

WTI and Brent crude fell by a cumulative 6% each over the previous two sessions, heading for a loss of about 4% this week, after last week's drop of more than 5%./End

The Governor Of The Central Bank Of Iraq Participates In The Joint Annual Meetings Of Arab Financial Institutions In Rabat

April 29, 2023 His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and his accompanying delegation participated in the meetings of Arab financial institutions that are being held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, for the days 29-30 April 2023.

During the speech of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Hamidi, he thanked the Central Bank of Iraq for its continuous support for the success of the Regional Corporation for Arab Payments Clearing and Settlement (Bunna platform).

His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mr. Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, said that the bank contributed to supporting the efforts of the Arab Monetary Fund in voting to increase the platform’s capital by an additional fifty million dollars to help expand the platform’s business and support its activities.

His Excellency also met with a number of governors and heads of Arab institutions, to strengthen the relations of Iraqi banks with Arab banks through the approval of a number of Iraqi banks to establish banking relations and open branches for a number of them in those countries.

It is noteworthy that (Bani platform) is a system for inter-Arab payments wholly owned by the Arab Monetary Fund, in which Iraq is a founding member and an active shareholder.

The platform aims to enable Arab financial institutions, central banks, and commercial and Islamic banks to perform payments among themselves in a timely and reliable manner, at an appropriate cost and with high efficiency, facilitating cross-border payments.

The platform also provides participants with modern payment solutions that comply with international standards, principles and international compliance requirements.

Most financial debates are people with different time horizons talking over each other.

From school, I remember: Every good story I was told, but none of the formulas I memorized before a test.

It’s easiest to convince people that you’re special if they don’t know you well enough to see all the ways you’re not.

“People like you more when you are working towards something, not when you have it.” - Drake

A lot of people seem to have a necessary level of stress, and when their life is going well they make up imaginary problems to fill the void.

Few things are as persuasive as your own BS, while nothing is easier to identify than other people’s BS.

Everything is sales.

Every employee is replaceable.

Those we admire most in sports, business, politics, and entertainment tend to share one quality: They knew when it was time to quit, time to pass the baton, time to disappear, in a way that preserved, even enhanced, their reputation. Nothing diminishes past success like overstaying your welcome.

The hardest thing when studying history is that you know how the story ends, which makes it impossible to put yourself in people’s shoes and imagine what they were thinking or feeling in the past.

You can only ignore the critics if you also discount the praise.

There are two types of people: Those who want to know more and those who want to defend what they already know.

My jealousy of dogs: They can sit for hours doing absolutely nothing, appearing perfectly content.

A lot of people like making money more than they enjoy having money. The change, not the accumulated amount, is the thrill.

Few traits are as attractive as humility, but few are as common as vanity.

Everyone wants to be lucky and to be admired, but no one admires a person for their luck.

The market is rational but investors play different games and those games look irrational to people playing a different game.

A big problem with bubbles is the reflexive association between wealth and wisdom, so a bunch of crazy ideas are taken seriously because a temporarily rich person said it.

Logic doesn’t persuade people. Clarity, storytelling, and appealing to self-interest do.

Washington Renews Its Support To Help Iraq To Start Construction Operations

The First Government Comment On Currency Smuggling Through Electronic Payment Cards

Jamal Cougar: The Budget Will Be Approved When The Fiscal Deficit Is Reduced

Those numbers reflect how the financial industry typically views wealth. The average American views a net worth of $774,000 as enough to be financially comfortable, with a net worth of $2.2 million required to be wealthy. That’s according to Schwab’s 2022 Modern Wealth Survey.
